Best Buy Trap

Best Buy is no doubt a well known market for electronic goods. But employees sometimes tend to cheat on customers.

This is what happened to me today at a Best Buy in Las Vegas. I was there to buy a laptop with i5 processor for my friend. Having compared different brands of laptop I finally decided to go for i5 Dell Inspiron. Among the various brands like Sony, Lenovo, Dell, Hp I liked Dell because Hp and Sony were expensive where as Lenovo has heating problems. I have been using i7 Lenovo for about a year. It gets so hot that I soon ended up buying a cooling pad. Even with cooling pad sometimes it gets so hot that it shuts down automatically without any warnings. Also the battery backup is very poor. My Lenovo is now a kind of Desktop.

A guy in the uniform approached me asking if I needed any assistance. I showed him the laptop and said that I wanted to buy it. He took the model number from the display and said that he would check if he still has the model with him. Few minutes later he appeared again and said that he has the model without restore CD but it would cost extra $100 to pay the geek team for the CD. Or it would take 3 days to reach there he said. I said I don't need the CD. He went back to check if it is available in any other stores near by.

By then I had already searched the availability of the laptop in the same store. It was there. I knew he was lying. I then looked up at Frys. It was there too and a dollar cheaper. "You will have to go to LakeMead store" he said as he came back. It was a store very far. He added "if you give $50, the geek team will make the restore cd. You don't need $100 too."

There I questioned him that the website shows that the product is available at the same store how come he say that its not available. He noticed that I had searched the webpage. He knew it I wouldn't buy his story. With a smile he said " I will double check if its available here." Within a minute he came back with the laptop and a free Antivirus cd. "I found it" he said but we knew he just wanted to make a deal for the geek team so that he would get part of the deal.

These things aren't new if you have been shopping at BestBuy. Don't fall into these BestBuy traps. Just browse the site and confirm what they are saying is true.

iPhone 5: Release Date and Specifications

I don't own an iPhone yet. I was planning to have one. But then a thought crossed my mind. What if Apple guys decide to launch iPhone 5?

For sure, its going to be very expensive and I don't want to spend too much more money for some stupid features that I am seldom going to use if I ever use. Then why should I wait for the release date of iPhone 5?

Obviously, if they release iPhone 5 then iPhone 4S is going to get cheaper. Now for 16GB iPhone 4S it costs $649 if you want it contract free. However, with 2 years contract network carriers like att&t, sprint and verizon provide it for a price of $199. Well I don't mind going for a contract for 2 years as long as the phone works enough for me. I think 4S will be fine for 2 years. Then should I go now?

Release Date:
I don't want to blame myself if they release their iPhone in next couple of weeks. But are they going to release it so soon? Although we all expected it to be released on october 2011, we now hear that they are going to release it in mid summer 2012. Some say it might not be released till late 2012.



Specifications:
But whats going to be there in iphone 5?
1) A bigger Screen
2) A quad core chip
3) 4G/LTE support
4) A white glass?
5) More memory
6) More storage
7) NFC technology: a digital wallet
8) Higher mega pixel camera
9) and some surprise atleast with the apps.

Well guys, don't get too excited. These are just the rumours. We don't know for sure what they are working upon.

Dancing Fountain at Bellagio

This is the famous dancing fountain of Bellajio Hotel in Las Vegas. This fountain dances to the tunes of song being played. Different songs are played each time. I will try to take some better video next time.

Things don't work in America too

America! We believe, has a strong system. Everything as per rule. I also used to believe the same.

It was 12 midnight yesterday. I was in the strip at Vegas with my friend. We decided to return by bus. We were at the bus stop, we didn't see any buses coming that way. Then we saw a notice which said "To know the next schedule text rideRTC 957 to 41411". I sent the text and immediately I got the following reply

Wow! I thought, what a system. We would otherwise be waiting for another 4:40 hrs in that chilly winter night. So we started walking home. It was 35 mins of walk. After we walked about 30 minutes, to our dismay we saw a bus pass us and pick up passenger waiting for it in a stop infront of us. You should have seen our faces.

Few minutes before we were praising the system. Now we concluded, America too fails. I hate to say this but America isn't perfect.
